DI 43510.070 Diary Control and Followups

The SSA-423-U6 the FSP will be diaried for 120 days. An SSA-5526-U3 to the DO or VARO will be diaried for 90 days. The SSA-847-U3 to the DDS will be diaried for 90 days.

A. First followup

1. FSP

If the evidence or status of the development has not been received within the 120 day diary period, an SSA-423A will be used to followup the SSA-423-U6. Send a copy of the original SSA-423-U6 with the SSA-423A. Diary for 60 days.

2. DO, VARO, DDS

If the evidence or a status report has not been received within the 90 day diary period, send another SSA-5526-U3 or SSA-847-U3 and annotate it “Second Request.” Diary for 60 days.

B. Second followup

1. FSP

When there is no response to the SSA-423-U6 or SSA-423A, send a teletype to the FSP. Ask the FSP for status of the prior request and expected date of completion of requested development. Diary for 30 days. Send folder to the RIF holding file.

2. DO, DDS

If there has been no response to the initial request and first followup, telephone the DO or DDS for status of the development and expected date of completion.

3. VARO

Send a teletype to VARO requesting status of development and expected date of completion. Send the folder to the RIF holding file for 30 days.
