California pays OSS E to a disabled (not blind) child under age 18 who resides with
a parent or relative by blood or marriage (until September 30, 1979, a disabled child
under age 18 living with a legal guardian also fell into this category).
NOTE: Effective February 1, 1982, only FLA A and C are compatible with OSS E. If the VTR
applies, see OSS G SI SF01415.160B.
Maria Able, a 15 year-old disabled child, attends a residential school for the deaf
from which she returns to her parent's home on weekends, holidays and in the summer.
She is determined to be residing in her parent's household. Therefore, her FLA is
C and OSS E applies.
Beatrice Charles, a 10 year-old disabled child, lives alone with her aunt. She pays
her pro-rata share of the food and shelter expenses. Therefore, her FLA is A and OSS
