HI 00901.010 Field Office (FO) Access to the Health Insurance Master Tape - Process

The FO accesses the HI master tape to:

  • •

    transmit admission data for claims for emergency services furnished by a Federal emergency hospital.

  • •

    transmit the various queries to obtain information contained on the HI master tape. (See SM 00706.005.)

  • •

    get a replacement HI card (HCFA-1966) mailed to the beneficiary. (See HI 00901.205 and SM 00706.025.)
