We send around 350 million notices to the public each year. This is an average of almost 1 million notices a day!

To compare, SSA gets about 1½ million daily views of our internet pages, about a quarter–million people contact the 800 number each day, and about 100,000 people visit our field offices.

This means that notices are a major part of how we communicate with the public.
