VB 00501.020 Notices

A. Policy

Any time a payee selection is effectuated, the beneficiary or the person who can act for the beneficiary must be given formal notice of the action. Final notices to beneficiaries outside the United States provide appeal rights because we do not send an advance notice (GN 00503.130).

We send courtesy notices to unsuccessful applicants to advise them of the decision. This notice does not provide any information on who was selected or why, so disclosure policy is not violated. (See GN 00503.130.)

B. Procedure

All Title VIII notices will be manual. They will be available on DOCS. Refer to VB 05001.019-VB 05001.021--SVB Notices.
