1. FO Action — When A field office (FO) discovers that a beneficiary selected for Tax Refund Offset (TRO) has died, the FO should call the name, social security number and date of death to the Programs Branch in the regional office. The regional office will be responsible for seeing that the information gets to the central office component responsible for removing the name from the TRO Certification File.
