Field offices should use the DDS case control query (DDSQ) to respond to routine inquiries
from claimants and to check the progress of DDS case processing. The DDSQ is requested
by completing the RS, PIN, AN and UNT fields on the DDSQ mask. Field offices should
use the PIN entry of 1234 when requesting the query.
The following selected fields from a DDSQ can be used to determine the status of the
claim.

The field office should feel free to telephone the DDS unit (unit supervisor in Texas
DDS) on any sensitive or critical cases.
