A. When to complete question 55

Complete only for claimants who allege being disabled or blind and receive or expect to receive wages or are self-employed or expect to be self-employed. If more information is needed, provide the claimant with SSA Publication No. 05-10060 Incentives To Help You Return To Work. Otherwise, go to question 56.

NOTE: It is possible for an ineligible spouse or parent receiving title II benefits to have IRWEs/BWEs. For deeming information, see

B. Claimant’s earnings are $65 or less

Undertake IRWE development in certain circumstances even if a claimant's earnings do not exceed $65 per month.
