HI 01190.005 Description of Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA) Notices

Process

The Income Related-Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA) Notice System is an automated system that uses information from the MBR and the IRMAA portion of the Medicare Database to notify beneficiaries of determinations of IRMAA, including reconsideration determinations, as well as dismissals of requests for new initial determinations and reconsiderations. The IRMAA subsystem ID is 18. Notice Types are listed in HI 01190.015.

NOTE: Beneficiaries will receive a separate notice from the Title II Redesign (T2R) system when the IRMAA determination results in a change in benefit payments; this subchapter and subchapters HI 01192 and HI 01194 contain instructions only for the IRMAA notices.
