SSI recipients must file for other benefits to which they may be entitled. Any allegations
or statements made by recipients or their representative payees during the RZ interview
which indicate potential entitlement to other benefits must be explored.
Interviews must explore potential eligibility for all classes of Title II benefits.
If the recipient appears eligible for Title II, the interviewer must determine if
the Title II application that resulted from the filing of the Title XVI application
was properly adjudicated per GN 00204.027 and SI 00601.035. If the application was properly adjudicated, an RZ can be used to protect the claimant’s
filing date for Title II benefits. See GN 00204.015 for the policy and procedures.
