RS 00615.001 Introduction to Computation of Monthly Benefits

This subchapter explains how to compute benefit amounts for workers, spouses, children and survivors.

Benefit computations in effect for 1978 and later are included in this subchapter. Methods in effect prior to 1978 are discussed in RS 00630.000.

Acronyms used in this subchapter are defined in RS 00601.002.

Various programs of the Interactive Computations Facility can perform most of the computations discussed in this subchapter. Detailed instructions about those programs and their limitations can be found in MSOM ICF 001.001.
