DI 26535.006 Initial Title II Notices for Allowances

A. Fully favorable allowances

The field office (FO) generates notices based on the input of the regulation basis code for most initial Disability Insurance Benefit (DIB), Childhood Disability Beneficiary (CDB), and Disabled Widow(er) Benefit (DWB) allowances.

B. Partially favorable allowance for a closed period and unfavorable onset date

The Disability Determination Service (DDS) prepares a personalized explanation with an interim notice (SSA-L1157) for initial Title II and Title XVI closed period and unfavorable onset date allowances according to the instructions and procedures in the following:
