SI 00604.065 Changes In Living Arrangements: Question 38

A. Introduction

The purpose of question 38 is to determine if there are living arrangement (LA) changes since the first moment of the reference date month. For more information on the reference date, see SI 00604.008A.

B. When to complete question 38

Complete 38 for all claimants. Explain changes in "Remarks."

1. Effect of changes in residence on payment

Consider changes in residence as well as any other change in the living arrangement or other breakpoints (e.g., change in household composition). For breakpoints, see SI 00835.510.

NOTE: A breakpoint may affect the LA and in-kind support and maintenance (ISM) determinations, which in turn, may affect payment or eligibility.

2. Documentation of previous LA

If there is a need to document the previous living arrangement, use an SSA-8006-F4 (Statement of Living Arrangements, In-Kind Support and Maintenance).
