NL 00702.158 Printing a Draft Copy of a Document for Review

A. Policy

If a technician is required to review a notice before it is released, the SSA-573 or other typing instruction should indicate clearly “DRAFT COPY.”

The draft copy is not dated when it is printed. Due to print quality, documents printed this way should not be mailed. Local instructions will determine when draft copies of documents will be prepared.

B. Procedure

The typist will print the draft copy on the TAP printer using PF18.

Return the draft copy to the technician for review. The technician should initial and date the draft copy and return it to the typist with a request that the final copy be printed.

When the draft copy is returned to the typist for final processing, it should be initialed and dated by the typist and placed in the folder/holder. The typist will move the final copy to the IR Queue for subsequent printing on the laser printer.
